Factors To Consider When Choosing A Primary School

When choosing a primary school for your child, there are a few factors you need to take into account. Here are a few:

1. Location

Depending on your child’s needs, you may want to consider choosing a primary school  in the Netherlands that is close to home or in a more central location.

Amity International School Amsterdam (AIS) is a world-class institution that offers a high quality education to students from around the globe.

2. Size

If your child will be attending a large or small school, it is important to factor this into your decision. Large schools typically have more resources and offer more opportunities for the children, but can also be more challenging for them. Small schools offer individualized attention and can be less stressful for children, but may not have the same level of facilities and programs as their larger counterparts.

3. Age group

You will also want to decide which age group your child will be attending the school in: pre-kindergarten (KG), primary 1 through 4th grade, or 5th through 8th grade. Pre-KG is usually the best option for very young children who are just beginning formal education and do not yet need strong academic support; KG students transition to primary school at around 4 years old.

4. Language selection

If you are unsure about which language your child is learning best at home, it might  be a good idea to choose a school that offers bilingual education. This way, your child can continue to be exposed to both languages and develop fluency in both.
